Hi,
What you described is also handeld in this post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-CA/projectserver2010general/thread/a65512ff-7a32-4697-98e4-728f22fac758
quote form Prasanna Adavi : "AFAIK, these icons will work only if the standard GUI commands to load a document etc., into the project site. For example, if you have stored the document library as your network place and are uploading documents directly, without going through the "Upload" from GUI, then the icons will not appear."
I hope this makes it a bit clearer for you.
With Kind Regards,

BNaughton --The Document icon symbolizes the fact that a Document Library in the Project Site contains at least one document. If you know that a Project Site has at least one document in a Document Library, but you do not see the Document icon for that project, ask the PM to open the project and publish it again. That should make the icon appear. Hope this helps.Dale A. Howard [MVP]

Hi,
Looked into this today and it appeared that if documents were added through explorer view didnt appear and if added through the traditional GUI they appeared as an indicator
Does that seem right, and is that what you are talking about above?

BNaughton,
Yes, that was exactly what I found previously (and hence my comment on the mentioned thread), by Robin.
