Reporting period in one day

I need that staff fill out each days the comments and custom field for each task in the timesheet.
Is it right decision to use the reporting period in one day?

While there is no 'technical' challenge of using a "daily" reporting period, i think it is a lot of maintenance work to maintain that setting.

Yes, I know about these solutions. But I need to, for example, to do custom field with constant values. Such a decision, I have never met. What's wrong with the solution with a period of one day?

Like I said, I cannot see anything wrong technically with one day time periods, other than maintenance and reporting.
