remove link when submission date is over for assignment

Question

Hi,

I'm using sharepoint and visual studio 2008 to create webparts in a student portal.
I'm new to it and I'm not sure if there is any codes for a webpart like workflow that can work like this..

I need to create something that allows user (e.g. Teacher) to upload documents and teacher can set start and end dates.
But when the due date is over, is there something I can do to make the link for submission gone when the assignment has expired?

I'm not sure whether I'm asking in the correct way ..
