silly mistake

I created my username then logged in this a.m. Ihave been to my profile and done as said to change to my proper username. How do i change back as i posted a problem i am urgently trying to solve. Can any one please help me. Many thanks. My comp is windows xp.

Any Idea what is Scrambling/Encrypting my Microsoft Word 2003 files

I use MS Word 2003 (11.8307.8221) SP3. After I save my file and then try to reopen it later. It is scrambled. I am not sure if something is encrypting them or just scrambling it.

I can email one of my files, if you think you can fix it.

Hello,

i am using xml & xslt for generate MS word doc.

simple steps for generating ms doc file are-

1) creating xml file

2)creating xslt file

use both files as embeed resourses

3)transfom xslt and generate MS doc file

when i use simple xml ,it works fine and i got ms doc file

but when i used rich text functionality in xml like

<I1>

This

<i>is itellic</i>I1>

code works fine and output as msdoc file but with out formatting.

output comes "this is a text This is itallic" instead "this is a text This is itallic"

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This may be the wrong place to ask this question. I have Windows 2000 and am in two FF leagues hosted by CBS. One team opens fine and everything works. When I open the other team, all I get are symbols--no player names. I have contacted CBS--no luck. Any thoughts on whether it is a computer problem?

Hi.
Can anyone tell me, why msword delete all created by me "streams" and "storages" in "*.doc" file, when I use "save as" msword menu item. And can You tell me a solution of this problem?
In this way I`m create s storage

Developing a tool to recognise MS Office file types ( .doc, .xls, .mdb, .ppt )

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am supposed to develop a tool which can identify the correct Microsoft Office File types (.doc, .xls, .mdb, .ppt). The tool will take an MS office file ( .doc, .xls, .mdb, .ppt) as input and will return the correct file type.
The file identification should be done based on the contents, not the extension which can be renamed. How can i solve this problem? Can the binary format of MS office files be helpful in this regard? any other solution?

In addition, OpenOffice opens the correct type of application for each of these MS office files so it means OpenOffice have some way to differentiate between MS office file types. Any OpenOffice library which can be helpful to me? anything else you want suggest?

Problems Using the ODF Interoperability Notes

1. BIGGEST CONCERN: I am using Internet Explorer 8 (as currently pushed to Windows XP SP3 consumer installations) and I have never seen implementation notes that reflect anything but PowerPoint 2007. I am sure there must be a setting or filter that I can control somewhere, but I don't see anything that lets me control that.

2. MINOR CONCERN: It appears that the explosion of the specification into a hypertext stops at the deepest numbered sections of the ODF 1.1 specification. This means that there can be extensive material under a single section and that may give rise to a very large number of implementation notes in a single pane, since some numbered sections contain a great deal of schema and definitions of a significant number of attributes. This makes it difficult to focus on a single feature and on the implementation notes that are just about that feature. It is possible to compensate for this in the forum threads that go with a section, so long as commentors/contributors are careful, but it is something to pay attention to. (I do not propose that there be any change to this, but it is something to keep in mind for the future.)

3. A LITTLE INCOHERENCE: It is strange that the entries that can be made in this Forum are so different from what can be entered in the Forums attached to the Implementation Notes themselves. That is, the forms are quite different and it takes mental gear-shifting to know which forum I am in and how to work it. Editing the HTML, which I am inclined to do is quite different, and the markup is also quite different.

I have been remiss in not spending more time here. The ODF implementation notes are a great contrast and complement to the ODF specification analysis and the work to arrive at implementation-independent conformance interpretations, test assertions, and guidelines for testing conformance and testing interoperability. We are both annotating a hypertext version of the specification, but with different objectives. However, I can see the two objectives informing each other in useful ways. I will attempt to form a bridge.

Microsoft Access Default Save Location...Missing Folder?!?! Please help!

So I go to school at Binghamton University and the University uses Microsoft Access to publish blank documents such as projects and assignments. You use microsoft access to open these programs and I had just did such a thing. I was clicking CTRL-S to save the document but it never prompted me to re-write a name for the document so I assumed it was saving to a default folder.
I have searched my computer for what I thought the document name was but the problem is since it was opened fromt he internet it had some strange *$& symbols in front of the name.
Please let me know if there is a default location for this program to save or if you know anything I don't please let me know as soon as possible. My E mail is kdm703@jwu.edu or just post THANK YOU ALL!!!

Problem to open excel file.

Hello,
My application (based on dotnet 2.0 framework) have data 'export to excel' functionality and our application database in SQL Server 2000. Export functionality is working fine.
But in one case exported excel file dont open and give following error message

"Excel found unreadable content in 'hello.xls'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes."

Hello.xls is file name.

This error only occurred in following conditions:
1) If i exporting a field 'Summary' and only no. of rows is exceeds from 850 (its not an exact count) . This field type is varchar(5000).
2) if i exclude the 'summary' column data and export it more than 850 records it exported and file is open without any message or error.

In all other conditions exported file is open correctly. Please give the solution or root of the problem. Its urgent.

Equations translation - to be or not to be?

For example, ODF used MathML for equations, MS use it `s own format (OMML). Since both MS Word 2007 and Open Office able to create and edit equations - so it`s good idea to remain equations editable in every respected product?
