access denied when i trying to open a notepad file the file is in green colour because it is hidden

i am using a windows xp sp3. i logged in as administrator. i created a notepad and typed some confidential information in it. So, i hide that notepad file. when i unhidden and tried to open that file it throws the ACCESS DENIED.  It is more important file. Please help me to sort out this is problem. consider me as a beginner
