[MS-OXORULE] Missing bitmask flags in PidTagRuleState
- Hi,
in MS-OXORULE v20090712 section 2.2.1.3.2.3 "PidTagRuleState", there is a bitmask diagram (top of page 15) that contains a range of flags, followed by text that describes them.
Two flag values ("M4" and "P2") don't have any associated text.
What do these bits mean?
When do outlook and exchange set them?
Brad
Answers
Brad,
I’ve confirmed that the M4 and P2 bit fields are not used at all by the latest version of Outlook. Therefore these two fields can be safely ignored.

- Brad,
sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I can confirm that this change (i.e. to ignore the M4 and P2 bits) applies to 2003, 2007 and 2010.

- Tom.
Thanks for this. I assume that the "latest version of Outlook" in this context is 2010.
Can you also confirm that they are not used by Outlook 2003 or 2007, and that these bits have no meaning to Exchange 2003, 2007 or 2010?
Brad - Brad,
We are investigating this and shall update you as things progress.
