[MS-ASCMD] Autodiscover example Case Error
- to dear Exchange ActiveSync developers,
I found the XML formats in the Autodiscover examples has inconsistency. The format of "Response - Case Error" in Page 320 and the format of "Response - Case Framework Error" in Page 322 is different although they use the same tag element "Error". So, which one is the standard response from the Exchange server when the Autodiscover command causes error?
And another question, what is the "static page" means in the Section "Response - Case Framework Default" in Page 323? Does it mean that this is a static format response from the server regardless of Autodiscover response format?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Nicholas
Answers
Nicholas,
There is no standard response in regards to an Autodiscover error. The error returned by the server will all depend on the cause of the problem.
For example:
Error 600 - Invalid request
Error 601 - Provider Not Available for schema specified

"Static page" just means a page with predefined and unchanging content. This page could be populated and used to help troubleshoot unauthenticated requests. It is just a suggestion and is included as specified in the endnote (<50>).
<50> Section 4.1.6: In Exchange 2007, this page is configurable by using the 401-1.htm Web
page that is installed in the Help subdirectory of the Autodiscover physical directory.
