.Net 4 beta 1 install failed............

Question

Install fails because it say's .net framework 1.0 is installed. However in "Add remove programs .net 1.0 is not listed, as though it is not installed.

I have .net 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5 installed with required service packs.

Is .net installed and just not showing up on the program list, or is the .net 4 intallation program incorrectly showing version 1.0 is installed ?

How do i get around this.

I have XP Media center 2005
I have VS 2005 and 2008 installed on this machine.

The message is imprecise -- it's referring to 1.1 (the 1.x generation).

This block is expected on XP Media center 2005, because .Net Framework 1.0 is part of that particular operating system.  We are looking into this issue for the next Beta release.
