Thanks for your feedback, you were encountering different problems as I can tell from the error code.
Hi VBVegas,
For error code 1, you can take this case for your reference: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2658411&SiteID=1
Hi Soulsedge
Error code 34 usually means your Vista needs a reboot.
If you still have problem, please give more information:
What to do when you go to post a setup and deployment issue on the MSDN forums?

There may be some 3rd-party software or service blocks, turn them off before installing.
And you can try the steps: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/11/25/disabling-services-with-msconfig-to-work-around-setup-failures.aspx and reboot.
After doing the above steps, try to remove remanet of .NET Framework either by ARP or .NET Framework cleanup tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2007/12/04/6659905.aspx , then run the setup again.
Thanks

Hi Figo:
I followed the instructions posted in the link you provided me, but it did not work.
I run:
reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty /fand I got:
ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value. Then I did the the following steps to get something that It looked like was going to work but failed.
1. I got checked all the Microsoft .NET Framework v3.0 files from
Control Panel ---> Programs and Features ---> Turn Windows features on and off ---> Microsoft .NET Framework v3.02. I run the updated version of the .NET Framework cleanup tool to uninstall .NET 3.5 and repair the .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on Windows Vista.
3. I run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc /scannow . It said it repaired some files and others not.
4. I got unchecked all Microsoft .NET Framework v3.0 files (Turn Windows features on and off )
5. Vista OS asked me to reboot the system. I rebooted.
6. I run the .net 3.5 framework setup file and started OK for the VERY first time, but after a while it failed again.[03/10/08,22:00:21] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 (CBS): [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 (CBS). MSI returned error code 1

Is there any 3rd-party anti-Virus or something running there, please check it out and reboot.
Additionally for both,
It is recommended to apply Vista sp1 before installation: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsvista/bb738089.aspx
Thanks

It's a little late, but I'd like to point out that my problem with this was that i had the Windows Update service turned off. Turning it back on allowed installation to continue. :)- Proposed As Answer by K1Keiichi Wednesday, August 20, 2008 8:51 PM
