can send an msmq message but i cannot receive

Question

Windows 2008 R2 server can send but not receive Public queue messages under specific profile. I can log in with administrator and it works. User that it doesnt work for is in the local administrators group. Obviously a permissions issue but i do not know where to apply the correct permissions. Is there a log file or something that I can look at?

Hi,

Did you check the permissions of your public queue on DC? Try providing access permissions for a user(known to DC) on queue and try the same thing with that user.

The queue's security properties will show what permissions have been set.

You can use "Computer Management" or "Active Directories - Users & Computers" to review and set the permissions. Default permissions are quite restrictive on receiving messages so you will need to add the required user accounts.
