MT.exe fails with Access Denied while embedding manifest into EXE

When linking a manifest into a EXE file the antivirus momentarily checks the newly generated exe and causes mt.exe to fail. I found a workaround here: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/363060/mt-exe-fails-due-to-files-momentarily-locked-by-link-exe

But it is really hackish. It would be great if a switch could be added or the ability modify the mt.exe.config file in such a way to tell mt.exe to retry x number of times if error code 31 is returned. Is anyone else seeing this issue? Is there any other workaround other than disabling AV or creating a fake mt.exe that does have error handling?

BobSagat, I think the workaround in the link you provided is worth to try. As this issue has been reported in connect, I think you write a new post to connect is a better choice.
