Hardware: Just how many wireless mouses?
-
Thursday, February 25, 2010 8:48 AMThis isn't a software question, but I thought that this might've been tried before so someone might be able to fill me in...I'm thinking of using MultiPoint Mouse in our school, but wired mouses isn't an options (cords going everywhere across the classroom, health and safety regulations - need I say more?). So how many wireless mouses have people been able to get going at once without them all conflicting with each other? Class sizes are 28 kids maximum, though I doubt any MultiPoint Mouse software would really be that great having 28 input devices. Also, I'm guessing that they probably couldn't all be on the one bluetooth stack, but if they all had their own dongles... maybe? Thanks guys,Nicko

We recently deployed something like this to a classroom using 2.4 GHz wireless mice (Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000, http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=007). These mice each have their own dongles. We got up to around 18 of these mice before we hit a limitation. We then switched over to adding alternate types of mice to keep scaling up.- Marked As Answer by Jay Beavers [Work]Microsoft Employee, Owner Thursday, February 25, 2010 6:32 PM
