Company name in setup xml
Company name in setup xml
- Hi there. Requirement 1.6 in the application submission guidelines says that we should include our company name in the xml setup file. What about those who are not companies such as myself, should we write our full names here? Thanks all, -M

- Hi Martin,
We would strongly prefer that if you registered as an Individual and your Publisher ID is: "John Doe" that you use the same "John Doe" in the name in setup xml.
We have already learned that Intitials will not work. This would be a huge vulnerability risk. Ex. If someone's name is Henry Potter, and we allow him to sign apps with his initials, then it would look like "HP". Same if it is Irene Beth Monroe, the app name would appear to be signed by "IBM".
Hope this helps

Brian

- They don't check if the company name in the CAB matches your Marketplace account. In my case, setup.xml contains the "trade name" that does not correspond to any legal entity and therefore is not eligible for the MSFT's identity check. Yet the app is in the catalog.

- Thanks for the replies Gousekhan and Seva.I read the link you mentioned earlier but it relates to a company, not an individual. So I believe if I simply puy my initials as the company name this should be enough. What do you think? Thanks guys : )Martin
