AnswerSubmission Advice & Regarding MSI files

    Hi there,

I want to submit an application which consists of an app running on the mobile (.CAB) and a server that runs on the PC (.MSI).
I initially had this all packaged in an MSI file which installs on the PC and transfers via ActiveSync.
Because the current Marketplace is particular about having a .CAB file I have put the MSI Installer inside the CAB file.

    My questions are

    1. The submisson policy says no bundled apps are allowed. Does my app break this guideline ?
The app on the mobile is useless without the server running on the PC.

    2. Is there a plan to allow MSI Installers as a valid packaging medium for the Marketplace ?
I'm happy to package as a CAB file, but I suspect MSI installer is more convenient for the end user (at least for my app).

Do you think my app will meet the criteria for your marketplace ?
    Look forward to your reply.

    Cheers,
    RT

    Hi RemoteTouch,

if adding a PC based MSI installer inside the mobile CAB file will be considered as violating the no bundled apps requirement ? The MSI installer runs a server on the PC which the user of the mobile can connect to. Both are needed for the software to work.
