Published Product Not Visible in Marketplace
- I recently passed certification of 2 of my applications, MobileRemote and Sideline. MobileRemote was published to the catalog on 10/8 and Sideline was today. Sideline appeared in the catalog immediately, but MobileRemote is still not in there.
Is there any reason for this? If someone could take a look, I would appreciate it.

- Hi Mobilsrc,
We have the same issue. If you get a resolution please let me know.
Thanks,
Graham - Hi mobilesrc,
Which markets are these applications missing from?
Jo - US - English
- Hi Jo,
Our product Urban Horizon is missing as well from both the US and Canadian English sites. Can you look into it as well? - Himobilesrc,
Can you provide me the markets for your applications? I will look into this for you.
Thanks
Jo - OK, I've got all of your app names and the info I need. I see that they are in the Published status and am able to reproduce your issue. Am working with the appropriate teams to resolve. I'll be back with an update asap.
Thanks
Jo - Jo, Hi.
Could you also check for "DataSource for HTC Touch Pro, Verizon" from Mobility Software Products, Inc..
This is WM V6.1 application, US, English, Business, Other.
My Status is "Published", however, I am waiting for the V6.1 Marketplace Client and/or Web access in order to be able to see and confirm.
It would be helpful if you could confirm.
Thanks,
MSPI Engineering Hi,
me too. I published my app a few hours ago. It is listed in the dashboard as published. However, I still cannot find it on the Marketplace. The question is, how long does it usually (or at most) take that an application is available on the Marketplace after it is published through the dashboard.
In case you want to check: The name of the app is "GPS Trackah" and it is published to the EN-US market.
Thanks.- Ours was published at the end of September and is still missing. MSFT is looking into it but I'm guessing there's a bug or 2. But other stores sometimes require 24 hrs to update the list so I'd give it until then.
mobilesrc,
Is there a newer version of your application that has been published as well for that market?- Hello Graham,
It appears that you have a newer version of Urban Horizon 2.4. This may be why there is a conflict and it's not showing up. I'm working with Engineering on it.
For all on the thread as well, am adding yours to the list and will be responding as I get to the resolution for you all.
Thanks!
Jo - Hi MSPI,
Are you referrring to your app in the EN-CA market? That is the only version (1.3, for 6.x PPC) I see as published. Is this the right app?
Thanks

Thanks for looking into our product. To avoid resource overlap Santosh and/or Mike from VMC are supposed to be looking into this. Perhaps they can update status for you.
But please let me know if you find anything.
Thanks,
Graham- Jo,
For MSPI, the only app is "DataSource for HTC Touch Pro, Verizon", V1.3. For 6.X PPC.
It should be EN (English) and US (United States, not CA).
Please fix if you can.
And thank you for looking and helping.
MSPI Engineering Jo,
We are facing the same issue. Product Name - "MxCalc 12c RPN Financial Calculator" is published but not visible in the Catalog. I have created a seperate thread for the same. Please add it to the list.
Thanks
Brij- MSPI,
Thanks, your data is showing up on our side as you've outlined so no updates needed. Engineering is working on this, it's been designated as a top priority.
Thanks
Jo - Hi Brij,
Got it, yours has been added to the list as well. Engineering is working on this, it's been designated as a top priority.
Thanks
Jo - Hi,
Can you check on Pakii Sketch (english) as well?
These kinds of mistakes are really unacceptable for a service that charges $100.00. I hope you guys realize that you are setting yourselves up for some serious litigation with all of these "errors". Perhaps you should refund the developers and acknowledge that the market place is still beta, thus avoiding a lot of future legal issues. Just some advice.
Pretend that this was a real store that I paid to get my product into and half of the time I couldn't even "submit it" for review. The other half of the time it suddenly dissappears from the shelves etc. This should be a FREE SERVICE until the bugs are worked out. - Hi Jo,
Can you provide a status on this issue?
Thanks,
Graham - No. I only have 1 listing in my dashboard. Is this still not fixed yet? It's been 10 days since the thread and 20 since I submitted. To be honest, I am very close to switching to iPhone Development.
Jo,
I still don't see the application in the Marketplace. Though I see a single download in the dashboard.
Please check.
Thanks
Brij- Hello all,
This issue is still being worked and they are getting close to a resolution. We're looking into verifying that the devices are reporting the correct data back to the Marketplace to line up with the requirements specified for your app. If you could give me the device data of those that you've tested with, and also verify for yourself that that device supports all of the requirements entered for your app, that would be helpful.
Thanks for your assistance and continued patience,
Jo - PakiiSketchGuy,
Got yours on the list too. Thanks! - Hi Pakii Sketch,
I was able to find your app in the catalog using search. I have an HTC Diamond 2.
Thanks
Jo - Hello MSPI,
Your app was found in the catalog when using an HTC Fuze device.
Thanks
Jo - Hello BrijGDH,
We were able to find your app in the catalog when using an HTC Fuze with Keyboard (as specified in the app requirements).
Thanks
Jo - Hi Jo,
Any luck finding Urban Horizon? I tried moving it to a different category and tweaking the price. Thought it might nudge the system but to no avail.
Please status me on this app.
Thanks,

Oops, I missed this request.
We have tested the Canadian and US Marketplaces for Urban Horizon using 2 HTC Diamond(s), HTC Cruise, and the Winmo6.5 QVGA EMU.
The Cruise is running a leaked 6.5 beta and the Diamonds are running 6.1 from Rogers and Telus.- Jo,
The MSPI application "DataSource for HTC Touch Pro, Verizon" has been extensively tested to work on
the HTC Touch Pro on the Verizon network - only.
It may (probably will) work on other phones and networks but MSPI has only qualified it for the above.
As soon as our application (i.e., a V6.1 app) appears on the web and via the V6.1 client, and we can confirm
that all is correct, we will quickly expand it to include the HTC Touch Pro2 and also the Sprint network.
Thank You for your continued tracking of this issue.
MSPI Hello Jo,
My App "New Call Waiting" was published to the catalog on Oct. 1, Went to the AT&T store today and checked out the new phone with Marketplace, but the app wasn't there when I did a search. Could you check on this please.
Thanks,
Todd- Hi Jo,
The application requires MS Bluetooth Stack on the phone. It has been tested on most 6.1 phones. Hello all,

Hi,
as I do not have access to real EN-US devices here in Germany I am using the EN-US emulator in order to access the EN-US Marketplace. I think this is actually the problem. My application "GPS Trackah" requires "GPS" which I ticked in the dashboard when submitting it. The emulator likely presents itself to the Marketplace as not supporting GPS and therefore my application won't show up.
I guess, there is no chance that I will ever see it in the Marketplace myself. So can someone else in the US with a real device with GPS (I guess all WinMo 6.5 devices have GPS) please check whether "GPS Trackah" is visible in the Marketplace.
Thanks for clarifying this issue.- Hi,
My app (actually a widget) also doesn't show in the Marketplace (for three weeks now).
Widget: Streams-T
Publisher: TodayPDA
Requirements: Nothing, works on all devices
Please add me to the list and if it isn't to much trouble, please give a status update since I'm waiting three weeks and always get the reply: 'it's the top priority of the engineers'. Well, or the work very slowely or the whole marketplace has to be coded again.
But I'm curious why it is taking so long.
Kind regards,

What do you mean by device data?
Would it help if you have the liveIDs that we are testing with so u can look at server logs regarding what the devices are telling you they support?
Or better yet if you sent out a small exe reporting the H/W specs we could give you the specific details about what a given OEM reports support for. Then You'd have nice real data to parse through.
Just a thought?
Graham- Thanks Graham,
I assume that all of these devices have GPS capabilities. Can you confirm?
Thanks
Jo - Hi Todd U,
Yours is on my list, courtesy of Bill. To be sure, were you looking for it on Smartphones only and those that have screen resolutions of: 240x320, 320x240, 400x240, 240x400 and 320x320 as is specified for your app?
Thanks
Jo - Hi Graham,
I'm referring to the devices the you are using for looking up your app and ensuring that it supports the functions specified in the Device Requirements and Screen Resolutions for your app. For instance, if you specified Keyboard as a device req. are you trying to locate your app using a phone with a keyboard. I know it sounds simple but we've been able to close some of these cases by ensuring that we're testing with the devices that fit the requirements specified.
Thanks
Jo - Hi Sander16,
I was able to find your application Streams-T using a HTC Diamond 2.
Thanks
Jo - Hi Jo,
Thank you for your reply, I did find the widget in the market place this time. But there is still a problem, I tried to buy it and I get an error...
The steps I took:
1. Sign in on my account
2. Click the install button my application
3. Filled in personal information
4. Filled my credit card information
5. Submitted, and at that moment I should be able to download the app but I see the following error every time:

Perhaps you have more trouble with this?

Yes, all of our test devices support GPS.
For required support we selected:
1. Audio . I assume this means speaker phone support. Is this assumption correct? If it means something else then perhaps we need to remove this requirement.
2. Touch . All devices we have tested with have touch support.
3. GPS. All the devices we have tested with have GPS
4. For Screen resolutions we support all available for selection for PPC apps.
So could the Audio requirement be screwing things up? What does Audio mean?
Thanks for looking into our case,
Graham- Jo,
I am not able to find the application ( MxCalc 12c ) in the 6.5 Emulator ( Settings - United States English). Is there any difference between the device catalog & the catalog which I see on the emulator.
Also I want to update the file available for download. Do I need to update application ? Is it the only way ?
Thanks

What am I missing? - Jo,
I tried everything to view the application on the emulator (Hard Reset, Soft Reset, Square ) as I don't have 6.5 device. It seems that the application ( MxCalc 12c ) has disappeared from the catalog. Can you please check.
Thanks
Brij - Jo,
We resubmitted our application (Urban Horizon) without the requirement for Audio because I don't know what restrictions that would apply. So, currently our App requires only GPS and Touch.
Do you know if 6.0/6.1 HTCs have the "capability" reporting capacity required for Marketplace. What I mean is this a hardware/driver issue similar to the old non-unique GetDeviceUniqueID()? I ask because 6.5 phones are not retailing in Canada yet so we have to use existing HTCs or the emulator.
I know these are early days and you guys are working hard to resolve this but one of the highly advertised benefits of developing for Marketplace was supposed to be the transparency of the process for getting to market. That transparency should include better reporting to ISVs regarding issues preventing display within the market.
Unfortunately the PM I've been working with no longer responds and there are at a rough guess 10 apps on this thread alone looking for clarification about the issue.
I push because our app authenticates users and until we get comfortable with the sales logs this is manual. I don't want to have to keep checking the Dashboard and Marketplace every day to see if we are even for sale let alone if anyone has made a purchase. It is frustrating and is a waste of time. I would prefer an email stating when our application is visible. Is this possible?

Hi,
sorry to push again. Until now, I am still not sure whether my application is actually visible in the Marketplace on devices out there. After about two weeks the download count reported in the Dashboard is zero. Thus, I guess it is NOT visible.
PLEASE: Could someone with a WM 6.5 device with GPS and access to the EN-US Marketplace check whether my app "GPS Trackah" is actually available. Just type "Trackah" in the search box and it shows up, or not.- Hi Andreas,
I took a look and don't see GPS Trackah on my phone. I'm in Canada but set my Marketplace to the US by doing the following:
- Uninstall Marketplace
- Change your devices regional settings to US-EN.
- Reinstall Marketplace.
G - Hi Graham,
thank you very much. Looks as if my application really is not visible on the US-EN Marketplace. I also submitted the application to the German DE-DE Marketplace, however, I am still waiting for it to get certified.
Anyone else having an application with GPS requirement that does not show up, even on devices with GPS?
BTW: GPS is the only requirement that I did select.
@MSFT: Please put my application "GPS Trackah" on your list to check. - Hi Andreas,
I've got your app on the list.
Thanks
Jo - Hi Graham,
Appreciate your patience and feedback. At this time, it does appear that there may be some issues with the devices reporting GPS as a supported feature of the device. I will update you with more info as I get it.
Thanks
Jo - Hi Jo,
What is the status of MobileRemote? This thread is getting very long and hard to follow. - Hi Jo,
Can we simply remove the GPS requirement and Strongly advise in the marketing material that a GPS is recommended?
Or do you anticipate a resolution before the 6.x release in November?
Thanks again for your responses,
Graham - Just spotted this on XDA:Might help in finding your app. It does allow me to now browse paid apps in the US, something both the emulator and non-US 6.5 devices will not let me do even with the regional settings trick.

Hi Jo,
I was just checking to see if our app has appeared. You mentioned that devices reporting GPS is an issue. Are you sure because I can see Glympse in the US listings. Did they exclude the GPS requirement? Should we do the same?
Thanks,

Hi,
you can see the selected requirements for each app in the Marketplace client itself. They are listes right below the features bullet list.
Given all the trouble with applications not showing in the Marketplace because of the Marketplace client not being capable of determining the actual device configuration I would strongly recommend to not select any of the requirements in the dashboard when submitting the app. This is the only way to ensure that your application will really show up on all devices.[...]I also submitted the application to the German DE-DE Marketplace, however, I am still waiting for it to get certified.
Anyone else having an application with GPS requirement that does not show up, even on devices with GPS?
BTW: GPS is the only requirement that I did select.
@MSFT: Please put my application "GPS Trackah" on your list to check.
Hi,
on wednesday my "GPS Trackah" application was certified for the DE-DE market, at last. Now I can check myself with my German Windows Mobile devices. Guess what? It does not appear in the DE-DE market either. My device definitely has a built-in GPS receiver and my app works perfect on it. I use my Palm Treo Pro WM 6.1 with a manually installed Marketplace CAB file for testing, though. Cannot afford to by a new WM 6.5 device, yet.
I think the problem is, that the Marketplace cannot realiably (or at all?) detect whether the device has GPS support and report it correctly to the server. Therefore any applications that have the GPS requirement checked will not show up on devices and therefore will not be available for purchase. Interestingly enough, there are other GPS applications on the Marketplace available, however, none of them has the GPS requirement selected. Which can be easily seen in the app description page on the device.
My recommendation to the community: As MSFT is not really trying to fix that issue you are better off if you just do not check the GPS requirement (or any other requirement) when submiting the app. Otherwise your app will end up somewhere in limbo with the state "published to the Marketplace" but actually not available anywhere.Jo,
We have submitted a update & would like to check whether it is visible in the US English marketplace ( MxCalc 12c version 1.3 ).
I have read some work arounds to check marketplace catalog for various regions on Emulator by changing regional settings etc.
Doing that does not really show the current listing. What is the official method Microsoft has implemented for developers to verify their listing on Emulator or any alternate web tool ? .. If there is none ... then are we suppose to message here everytime there is update or new product published to catalog ?
I hope a tool is made available as soon as possible.
Thanks
Brij
