Known Issues and possible workarounds affecting the widget

    Thursday, March 19, 2009 4:48 PM

Here is are some of the known issues (and any possible workarounds) that we are working to fix in future releases.  Please keep checking here for the latest list.

    1. Changing target language after translation without refreshing may leave some paragraphs un-translated (Widget)
    2. Smaller size paragraphs may appear un-translated if they contains some sequence of nested tags (Widget & AJAX API)
    3. The translation toolbar does not display what Detect method is returning. For example if we call Microsoft.Translator.translate without specifying the source language code, the API still returns correctly because our Language Auto-Detect code kicks in - but the translation toolbar does not display the language detected. It simply displays ‘Undefined’. (AJAX API)
    4. If the size of a paragraph in a page approaches 2000 characters, then it will not be translated. (Widget & AJAX API)

Known issues with translation in Microsoft Word

Chris WendtMicrosoft EmployeeWednesday, September 12, 2012 11:44 PM

When you try to translate a large Word document by using Microsoft Translator, you might get 404 error. This is a known issue and we're working on this.  If you need to translate a large Word document, we suggest you to split the large document into smaller documents. We will post a note at the forum when this issue gets fixed.
    Thanks. Microsoft Translator Team
