I think it uses COM port upto COM28. I think they should use some other ports (or at least it should not be hardcoded to use some particular ports) so that cell emulator can live peacefully with other usefull applications.

Fri, 31 Oct 2008 10:37:11 Z2008-10-31T10:37:11Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/microsoftdeviceemu/thread/c3bc80fa-ed59-4ce7-bf42-3f77f85e9574#f64cb807-18fc-40a9-941c-e072b453682chttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/microsoftdeviceemu/thread/c3bc80fa-ed59-4ce7-bf42-3f77f85e9574#f64cb807-18fc-40a9-941c-e072b453682cJonnyVicioushttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=JonnyVicious"Cellular Emulator" com17 problemIf someone is still in trouble with this, I've just solved my problem by simply doing this :

- Open Regedit
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\xpvcom\history\group
- Double-Click on the entry named '6', the one with a value equal to 'COM17<-->COM27'
- Clear the value so that you still have the entry named 6 but data is empty
- Start Cellular Emulator

:)
Fri, 27 Mar 2009 13:23:22 Z2009-03-27T13:23:22Zhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/microsoftdeviceemu/thread/c3bc80fa-ed59-4ce7-bf42-3f77f85e9574#f41e647b-5d8a-49ef-afe9-878e80e73219http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/microsoftdeviceemu/thread/c3bc80fa-ed59-4ce7-bf42-3f77f85e9574#f41e647b-5d8a-49ef-afe9-878e80e73219t4ure4nhttp://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=t4ure4n"Cellular Emulator" com17 problem
If someone is still in trouble with this, I've just solved my problem by simply doing this :

- Open Regedit
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\xpvcom\history\group
- Double-Click on the entry named '6', the one with a value equal to 'COM17<-->COM27'
- Clear the value so that you still have the entry named 6 but data is empty
- Start Cellular Emulator

:)

You Rock...
