Device Emulator can connect to Internet, but CANN'T connect Intranet.

Question

 I have the following software installed on my PC:
1. Visual Studio 2005 SP1
2. Device Emulator 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=dd567053-f231-4a64-a648-fea5e7061303&DisplayLang=en)
3. ActiveSync 4.5
4. Virtual PC 2007

Then I connect to Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator from Device Emulator Manager in VS 2005. After cradle with ActiveSync and doing the network configuration by the documents, I can access internet web pages from Emulator's IE, but I can not access the web application in my desktop PC (such as: http://172.16.78.120/Default.aspx, where 172.16.78.120 is the IP of my desktop PC).

Do you have such experience and give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot!!!!!

 I found I can access the web application in my desktop if I use host name, such as http://hostname/Default.aspx
But I still can't with IP address. Why, why? Anyone can help me?

Hi Ally ,

I think you need to give your Port Number as well along with your IP address.



This might be a solution. Let me know if you have any concerns.
