Windows CE 5 Device emulator on Windows 7

Question

Hi guys.

I know this question might be somewhere, but I'm sruggeling to much to figure this out. I'm trying to install Windows CE 5 device emulator on Windows 7 and I get the following error:

Error 1606.Could not access network location http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/4/4/744a8606-9c52-4d59-8abb-8ca71ab5f2ab/Data1.cab.

I've been searching everywhere and all I could find is that I needed to unlock the application by Right Click -> Properties -> Unlock

but; needless to say, it didn't work. Can anyone help me

The device I'm righting the application for runs Windows CE 4, but a Windows CE 5 device emulator will also work for testing

I've checked everything: Firewall,Proxy settings. Everything looks fine

Hello,

 

First, did you have proxy settings on your side? If so, you can turn it off and try again.

 

Second, you can try to reinstall the Device Emulator, Please download the setup file from here:

Microsoft Device Emulator 3.0 -- Standalone Release
