Deployment Issue: Unknown Factory

Hey guys,
Having a few issues deploying a package in IIS - Dunno if it's an IIS 7 issue, web deploy or a VS2010 issue at the moment, but after I publish my LS Project to a package and import I get an error: Unknown Factory (LightSwitchApplication).
I've triple checked everything and can't find a reason for this. I've done some searching and it all seems to lead back to one thing relating to custom providers.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Make sure the VSLS Runtime is installed on the machine where IIS7 is running. Can you also describe the OS and "bitness" (32 or 64 bit) of the machine where IIS is running?

Hi, Matt.
I'm developing on Windows 7 x86 and deploying on Windows Web Server 2008 x64.
Is the VSLS Runtime independent of the Beta Installer at all, or do I need to run the Beta Installer on the IIS7 machine?
I've only downloaded the x86 ISO.
Thanks!

I managed to find the VSLS Runtime on the ISO and Installed and Rebooted.
So far so good!
Many thanks, Matt.

I have the same problem.
Where I can download the VSLS Runtime ? LS web installed doesn't have it.
Thanks,

The VSLS Runtime is on the Lightswitch ISO...
Look in WCU\VSLSRedist
It's the vs_vslsredist.exe
You may have further problems after installing the Runtime though.

Understood.
Is there no runtime download available?

No. Nothing.
Every ASP.NET application is a simple "copy" and configure IIS, but LS need more things....

This is true if you're running VWD Express as far as I'm aware.
It MAY be available via the Web Platform installer - I'm not 100% sure though.

Monday, March 28, 2011 12:31 PMFor me, it had to do with the order I installed everything. I recommend uninstalling everything and starting over.
