Hi,
I have a question about IE sometimes show the login prompt.
The steps are as followed:
- Login to the web application hosted by IIS (anonymous enabled with Network Service user) with windows authentication. (No login prompt and doesn’t matter if NTLM or Kerberos)
- Reset the IIS and make sure the w3wp process is not running.
- In the browser, user click something on the page that will make a web request to the IIS
- At this point, I will see the login prompt for windows credential.
At point 4, I found that the web request call that IE make does include authentication ticket without server asking for it.
I am wondering why this is the case?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi,
Please repost to http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/ieitprocurrentver/threads for ITPro questions about IE networking configurations.
this forum is for questions about html, css and scripting using msie browsers.
check the IE Security Zone settings... you should accept the default Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Have you chosen Autodetect for Intranet sites? Is the domain listed in your Intranet sites list?
Please include your windows and IE versions when asking a question.
