Adding child application
-
Tuesday, June 02, 2009 5:56 PMIt's nice there's an API for this but is there anything in the application configuration web utility? Or is there any other way of doing this? Writing a 50 lines of code for this type of thing that gets done once in a while is a major PITA.Thanks,--jim

Unless I am missing something, but there is no web utility or any other ways that I know of for creating child applications...
Also, there are limitations on what you can do in an API - for ex - you cannot enumerate the child applications. So each time you create a child application you have to save the id so that you can reference it later.
Hopefully sometime soon child applications would be allowed to be managed from the configuration site..

Exactly-- currently this is exposed at the API/web service layer. There is no current UI to manage child applications, only normal or master applications.
This is definitely on our radar for future releases, but we don't have any official announced dates for updates yet. We're definitely aware of the concern and non-optimal experience with this for child app configuration.- Proposed As Answer by Lowell MeyerMicrosoft Employee, Moderator Tuesday, June 02, 2009 9:37 PM

I recently found out that in the past 4 years "UI to manage child apps" was not created.
Even more, the mentioned API/WEB services do very poor job for implementing these features programmatically.
Thus managing HealthVault master/child application is not possible at all. Please, mark this as the answer.
