Is there a way to call patientwelcome from inside your code and return to your calling program?

Patient connect is not meant to redirect back to your application. Patient connect is a way for your application to establish an offline connection with the user without the user going to your application. If you want the user to go back to your application and have built an application that exposes a user interface, follow the normal auth flow.
