Windows Mobile Device Center cannot connect when using Remote Desktop Connection

  • I am a developer and my device is at work and it is attached to my work PC via USB.  When I login to my PC at work using Remote Desktop Connection, I cannot get WMDC to connect to my device.   If a connection already exists, RDC doesn't cause a disconnect -- that is good.  But I reboot often and the failure to reconnect is a big problem.  My workaround is to use VNC to talk to my work PC and do the reconnect with VNC.   But VNC is too slow and a pain to use at my office.   Is there some trick to enable WMDC to allow a device connect when using RDC?

  • We are experiencing the same issue. After reboot the WMDC will not connect unless the user logs on locally first, then connectivity through RDP works fine.

    Somebody please help!
