from System.Windows.form to Krypton Form

    Question

  • Hi all!!

    i am new to this...

i made a standard System.Windows.Form with many controls and components in it..

in general i wrote many lines of code..

then i discovered the Krypton ToolKit

is there a way to make this already existing Form to a Krypton Form  looklike with all code in it?

    thanks in advance

  • Hey, i also discovered this toolkit a short while ago and i also wanted to "morph" some old software.
Now that i'm on vacation i could look into it and it's quite easy.

    ** Backup your project **

Add a reference to the Toolkit dll to the project (ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit)
    then:
    1. open the form
    2. Go to code
    3. Select the class name for that form
    4. in the method choose: InitializeComponent *DO NOT ALTER THERE*
    5. Scroll up in the code (auto-generated)
6.Find Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form and replace with:
      ' Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
      Inherits ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit.KryptonForm

    its just after the initial
    Partial Class <formName>

    and it's done! Smile
