Installation Issue

    Question

  • We have been using Bing Maps for years on a variety of applications.  We have recently built up a computer display board using an ATOM E680T processor.  When we go to install the Bing Maps application ,we get the following error:"This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor.”  We are trying to find a way to determine if the Bing can be installed onto a board that uses the Atom processor.

  • From the message, it sounds like you're developing a windows store app, probably using the XAML control. The XAML control is native code and you need to build and create a package that includes the processor architecture for your target. Atoms are usually x86. It's pretty easy to set up your project to build all 3 architectures (x64, x86, and ARM).

  • Which Bing Maps control are you using? You are embedding Bing Maps into a board?
