How to set a default value for Iteration Path?

Answers

  • Hi Ruban,

    Thanks for your post.

First, we cannot add the DEFAULT rule for default Iteration Path field, default Iteration Path field not support the DEFAULT rule.

Second, when we create the PBI work item, the Iteration Path field value automatically set to the current spring by default in TFS 2012. You can manually change it to another spring before you save it.

For this scenario, you can submit it to Microsoft Connect Feedback portal at: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio. Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously.

  • Just as I thought, I do understand we can change it but point of creating a backlog item is it should go to the defined backlog, not to the current  sprint and judging by some of the views on this forum, i would say this is a bug.
