Answers

  • You should just be able to change the manifest to target '[11.0,12.0)'. Alternatively, Microsoft have released a VS2013 compatible Cosmopolitan shell and theme source code.

  • Hi Marden

We can use Many to Many Controls, LightSwitch Filter Control, Excel Importer in Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2013 has platform compatibility comparing to Visual Studio 2012. According to current information, you can update your project from  visual studio 2012 update 2 to visual Studio 2013 with these extensions.

If it encounters any problem during your update, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards

  • Hi Xpert360,

I downloaded cosmopolitan theme that you gave me, I opened the project in
visual studio 2013 recompiled everything and when I try to install
the same does not appear to be installed in VS 2013 appears only
    VS 2012.
I tried changing the manifest for [11.0,12.0] in other extensions and
    also did not work
If you'd like someone to post the extensions have to be adapted
installed in VS 2013 would be great.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Daniel, Xpert360

    I just give up! !

I've tried all ways to upgrade the extensions and I can not .
've Followed this article step by step and it did not work .
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/4f8f6eed-e4cd-459a-8523-f6021c4df55b/upgrading-lightswitch-extension-projects-to-visual-studio-2013

I've tried to change only the manifest and also to no avail .

I spent hours arranging reference errors when trying to update the Many to Many Control
could do virtually almost all the references necessary
but now I'm standing here in this reference : Microsoft.LightSwitch.Design.Core
    the project ManyToManyControls.Design
already tried this dll in the folder C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft SDKs\LightSwitch\v4.0\Design
and it does not exist , it is very difficult to get an upgrade so visual studio already
should be able to do this for us only we open the previous project in its new version .

Please if anyone has managed to do this update and can post the project to
do we download I thank you very much .

    and it did not work

  • The Microsoft.LightSwitch.Design.Core.dll assembly is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\LightSwitch\v4.0

  • Hi Marden,

I'm attempting to run these projects which I downloaded from your skydrive and uncompressed. When ExcelImporter is loaded into VS2013, both the ExcelImporterr.Lspkg and related Vsix file are flagged as incompatible.

    Any insights here?

  • I've tried the Excel Importer extension from Marden's skydrive as well but I get the error, "Unsupported - This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them."
