Microsoft XNA Game Studio 4.0 Refresh Setup ended prematurely due to an error

    Question

  • Good Day ,

I know this is not an Xbox forum , So one of you guys might have came across this problem

    Good Day

I am a Kinect for  Windows Developer, so i have developed an application in Kinect 1.6. Now i also want my application to have a Xbox version. So i have some few Questions.

    1) What do i need to do to convert my WPF (Kinect) app to Xbox.

    2) i read that i need to install Microsoft XNA Gaming Studio 4.0 for developing Xbox applications in Visual Studio 2010 or 2012.  So i downloaded the 40 megs exe and when i tr to install it i get the following error

Microsoft XNA Game Studio 4.0 Refresh Setup ended prematurely due to an error.Your system has not been modified.

  • The Kinect development on the xbox is limited to developers in the registered xbox developers program and the Kinect dlls for windows do not work on the xbox (their are special ones for registered xbox developers).
