Connecting to sql server from a Hyper V Virtual Machine

    Question

  • I have 2 servers A and B

Server A has SQL Server 2012 installed on it

Server B has Hyper V installed with a Windows 7 VM

If I try to read data from server A (via ODBC or Sql Client) from a program running within the VM the return of data is very slow.

If I run the same program in Server B (the parent os) the performance is fine.

Server B has 2 nics (teamed) and 1 nic for the VM

Does anybody have any idea what is wrong

    Thanks

    Phil
