AppFabric Install on Windows 7 Fails

Question

I am getting the following error:

"A previous version of Windows Server AppFabric was detected on this machine. Please uninstall any previous versions of Windows Server AppFabric and then launch setup again."

I have read and tried the steps at following:

a. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff637699.aspx -- The registry key specified "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppFabric\v1.0\Features" does not exist on my machine to begin with.

b. http://blogs.technet.com/b/appfabric/archive/2010/03/05/uninstalling-windows-server-appfabric-beta1-after-vs-10-beta2-net-framework-4-beta2-has-been-uninstalled-or-post-vs-10-rc-install.aspx

I have uninstalled Azure, Sync and a few other sdks/programs from MS but no help.

Which version of AppFabric are you trying to install? Is this 1.1? If it is 1.1, I think I read they recommend a clean machine to install onto because many of the configuration options have changed or need to be reconfigured after 1.1 is installed.
