Locked AppFabric Dashboard Remote - Rsa encyrption Cryptic Error.

When using AppFabric dashboard via remote connection (through the Web Management Service), I am receiving a cryptic error:

    Unrecognized configuration path 'MACHINE/WEBROOT/APPHOST/X/Y'

I managed to isolate this down to the encrypted connection string. If it is removed then it works.  Our clients need to be able to encrypt the connection string as they are using Oracle on Unix and cannot use Windows authentication.  Is there something that can be done to prevent this error or do I need to tell the client that this in an unsupported scenario?

    Note:

It works fine if I log into the server and connect directly to IIS.  Obviously this is not something we will allow our clients to do.

Which encrypted connection string are you referring to? Is this a custom connection string or something built-in to AppFabric?

    Thanks,

It is the connection used by the client's WCF service to connect to their database.

Can someone from Microsoft please help us.  We cannot get support for AppFabric via our MSDN package.  Thanks!

    Some extra information:

I recently discovered that we didn't have data for the services that had encrypted connection strings to the client database.  I discovered that granting the account running the event collection service permission to the RSA key fixed this problem.  It did not help with the Dashboard issue though.  I have even tried granting "Everyone" access to the Rsa key and it didn't make any difference.
