    Thanks for your post Philippe.  We have been investigating support for other DB types and will continue that investigation.  However, at this time for our next release, we do not plan to have out of the box support for other DB types.  As information on this topic evolves, we'll include it in the drops and product documentations.  If you want to talk more offline, please let me know at f o r d m @ m i c r o s o f t . c o m.

    I'm happy to update this thread with news that in AppFabric Beta2 you will be able to implement 'Persistence Providers' that go against any data source. If you use something other than SqlServer you can plug in your own Provider, and the AppFabric tools will continue to work.
