    Hello,

I'm having trouble with AppFabric 1.1 Setup on a Windows Server 2008 server SP2 x64. I cannot install.

AppFabric setup says that I did not install Powershell v2. But, for sure I did install it (console says v2, and shortcuts moved)

    Does anybody meet this problem?

I did reboot on server after Powershell v2 instllation and I've got full rights.

Could you paste in the error message here?

    Thanks,

I've got only one related message:

"The following configuration issues were detected.  Please resolve them before continuing. Windows Update service must be in running state"

But the error is "required components" before installing AppFabric 1.1

    Required Components

I did partial Windows Update, but still doesn't work (production server).

Interesting, maybe something about the PowerShell configuration is not correct. What do you mean "shortcuts moved"?

Is the Windows update service running? There are a couple Windows updates that have to be installed and the installer is probably just checking to see if these have already been installed. Here is the article for the Windows updates that need to be installed: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff637722.aspx

Could you check the event viewer to see if there is any more meaningful information being logged?

    Thanks,

About shortcuts, I just mean that "powershell shortcuts" moved into the "windows start menu" when you install powershell v2. Powershell v1 shortcut folder is empty after powshell v2 upgrade. That just confirm that powershell v2 is present on the system.

I did install critical packages + full security windows update.

IT team will wath about it tomorrow, I hope they'll find out solution.

There are no more information in the event viewer.

My last option will be to reinstall windows server :(

This is a staging server, I jut hope that production server won't have the same issue !

    Thanks for help

That seems horrible to only be able to reinstall Windows Server. Something else must be incorrect. I would contact MSFT Support first - they can sort it out. They usually do not charge you for their issues.

    Thanks,
