    All,

My company is forcing me to buy Visual Studio 2010.  Our application was written with Visual Studio 2008.  I am new to programming and need to support an application.  If I buy a Licence for Visual Studio 2010, does this also garantee a licence for Visual Studio 2008 if I end up needing it.

    Thanks for the help.

For licensing questions, use this information provided by Vicky Song (MSFT CSG) in another thread:

"License experts can help you with more information.

Since the question is a license issue, you can call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in their locations: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/ "

You should have no issues supporting a VS 2008 project in VS 2010 (depending on project type). If you have access to VS 2010 now, make a **COPY** of your VS 2008 solution and open the .sln in VS 2010. Let the VS 2010 upgrade wizard convert the solution to VS 2010 format and see if there are any issues.
