SharePoint 2010 Foundation: An unexpected error has occurred. Correlation ID error

  • Hi,

    I am facing an error while loading the Project Server (PWA) site. My server has Windows Server 2008 and SharePoint Server 2010. The SharePoint site working properly. Also the Project Server site was also working properly but after provisioning another site on same farm, I am getting the error as:

    Error
    An unexpected error has occurred.

    Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

    Correlation ID: 353d7757-efa1-4fa4-be03-a027de0fc562

    Date and Time: 7/20/2010 4:46:04 AM

    Can anyone let me know, what exactly this error is about and how to resolve this.

  • Hi the corelation id is to help you out find the actual log entry in the log files search for the corelation id in the log files for more details on the error occured

    I found below two entries as Error in Log file:

    Error: Failure in loading assembly: Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.PWA, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c 552687c1-26ce-431d-af7d-c6a04da02a13

    Error initializing Safe control - Assembly:Microsoft.Office.SharePoint.ClientExtensions, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c TypeName: Microsoft.Office.SharePoint.ClientExtensions.Publishing.TakeListOfflineRibbonControl Error: Could not load type 'Microsoft.Office.SharePoint.ClientExtensions.Publishing.TakeListOfflineRibbonControl' from assembly 'Microsoft.Office.SharePoint.ClientExtensions, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'. 552687c1-26ce-431d-af7d-c6a04da02a13

    Can you please tell me, what could be the reason behind this?

  • How about if you try to re-install your sharepoint? Just advice. If you still have the problem, I recommend you to find sharepoint provider to fix your issue. You can go with http://www.asphostportal.com, very affordable price.

    I get this error after creating a new Site Collection (Team Site) on my new SharePoint 2010 development environment. Any help is appreciated.

    Seems a custom branding component (farm-level solution) I have installed - that I don't know much about - is the cause of the error.
