Activity Tracker and Usage Reports in MS CRM 2011
-
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 3:24 PMUser adoption is a key in dynamics crm implementation and One of the requirement from Highest authorities is to find the Usage of the CRM system.
I found a link here :
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2009/04/08/crm-usage-reporting-unleashed.aspx
But this reports is more likely time tracking report. If I login into CRM and Do nothing for the whole day, still this report will show that I have used the system for whole day.
I found another One here : http://www.powerobjects.com/blog/2010/05/04/powerlog-usage-tracking-and-analyses-right-in-dynamics-crm/
which i find the best yet. But Client is not looking for 3rd party solution and also not this big feature.
Is there we can build a little feature like PowerObjects has.
Please share your ideas.Puneet Joshi - Dynamics CRM Developer

Sure, they are just using the CRM SDK. You could code one yoruself. Down the SDK and give it a go. I don't know if the usage logging is really as robust as you want right now out of the box though. It only logs access every 4 hours and there is no read auditing. Only update, delete, create and things that modify or create a record in the system.
