    Hi,

Most ASP.NET developers can easily pick and run with Commerce Server, the key is simply being able to work off a framework and know when to ask for help. So alot of companies will use an existing dev team, and simply request help from a Commerce Server consultant for architecture and support. This will usually keep the cost of a smaller deployment/solutions down.
The other option is many of us here have experience in Commerce Server development, but obviously depends on what you see as a reasonable rate, and whether you require someone local.

You may also consider contacting Arlene Hall at Microsoft, who is the Commerce Server partner manager and can you give you recommendations local to your area.

Feel free to drop me an e-mail for her contact details (you can reach me via my blog).

    Many thanks,
    Lewis

If you are looking for commerce server 2009 developers then the only option you have is to get MOSS/ASP.NET developers and get them trained in commerce server but if you are looking for developer/architect who have to develop ecommerce website then you have to pay the price to get them on board. Commerce server is a part of ecommerce website, but the resource functional and prior experience really counts.

If you are looking for commerce server training then you can reach out to Arlene Hall (CS support team) or Smith or me. We can guide you to get necessary trainer on CS2007 or CS2009.

or ask your developers to do self study and in development they can reach out to communities for their queries/questions and this forum is watched by good number of Commerce server evangilists who can address your query or problem :)

    Hope this helps.
