My application using Membership directory feature alone in site server 3.0. Now OS upgrade is going on. So i have to migrate from site server 3.0 to Commerce server 2002. How i could migrate all users in the membership direcotory to Commerce server 2002.

Hello, we are working on upgrading or SQL Servers from SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008. We are running into problems using CMS 2002 and connecting to a SQL Server 2008 instance in our development environment. Does anyone know if CMS 2002 is suppoerted on SQL Server 2008 or how to make it work with SQL 2008? Please let me know if you need further information or details. Thank you very much!

We currently have two web server in web farm running commerce server 2002 standard and we are toying the idea of adding another server for the holiday. My questions is that can we add another commerce server 2002 standard? I can't find any licensing info on commerce server 2002, only found 2009.
We are just adding this additional server for a couple months during christmas so I would prefer not to go enterprise version.

Site Server 3.0 LDAP Question

Does anyone know anything about the LDAP module in Site Server 3.0. I have to migrate the LDAP info from a site server 3.0 implementation to a new LDAP directory on ADAM. When I browse the member objects in the Site Server LDAP directory I get some odd results.

If I use LDP to browse the objects everything seems to display OK and I can see the attributes associated with each member object. However if I use another LDAP browser (Softerra) all of the attributes (first name, last name etc) are shown as being binary attributes despite them being defined as string attributes in the schema. My migration tool (ILM) is also seeing the attributes as binary as well and I cant work out why.

Anyone know anything about the LDAP directory and why this may be?

I have a site using Commerce Server Manager. Everything worked fine for years.
Last week the site started getting an erros in InternetExplorer:

When I open Commerce Server Manager, and go to "Console Root > Commerce Server Manager > Global Resources" and I try to expand "Profiles" I get an popup error with a tittle "Get Catalogs Error" saying "Object Required". Then I click OK and another popup with a tittle "Profiles Connection" saying "Could not load any Catalog".

So it doesnt expand...

So I can't see Profile Catalog (Profile Defenitions, DataSources, etc) and Site Terms.

Can anybody help me? Thanks

Commerce Server 2002 InterOp Assemblies

I need to develop a function to get data from a table by using "DBStorage.InitStorage" method. However, I do not have CS2002 installed on my local machine. I copied a whole bunch of DLL's to my local folder and referenced [Microsoft.CommerceServer.Interop.Order.Requisition.dll and Microsoft.CommerceServer.Runtime.dll] a few in my projects. However, i getting an error indicating that CLSID is not registered.

So, obviously, i tried to register the same DLL's by running regsrv32 command on my local machine. It is failing ststing that "... DLL entrypoint is not found".

Can anybody throw some light ro share some insight? Do i have to install CommerceServer 2002 on my local machine to do the development?

Basket Error after deleting articles

Hello,
we've a problem with a Navision 3.7 and Commerce Server 2002 System.

After we deleted a couple of articles in Navision, the baskets of some customers, who has some of these articles in their basket, doesn't work.

For Example, a customer added article "A" to his basket, then we deleted article "A". Now If he try to open his basket in the Webshop, he get an error message and can't open the basket. By our other customers the basket work's without problems.

We tried to restore the deleted articles, without success. The basket also show's a error message.

Does anybody know, where the basked is saved (in Navision or in the SQL DB??)? Or does anybody know how to clear the basket of a customer??

Commerce Server 2002 Discounts are not refreshing

I am running Server 2003 SP1, Commerce Server 2002 SP4 with Feature Pack 1. I have recently added the FP1 with discounts capability. However now when one profile adds a discount that discount is applied to any profile at checkout even a newly created profile. I have tried IISReset, modifying reg entry for Disabling loopback since we are using host headers, and applying a hot fix for AppURL not applying to unpackaged site but none of the mentioned have helped. Does anyone have ideas of other tips to look into?

site.csc modification question

I am trying to migrate the database to another server for a site using site server 3.0. I have found that I need to somehow modify the \config\site.csc file because the connection string is hard coded in the file. I have also found reference on a technet saying that you can't directly modify a site.csc file, and that I will have to explicitly state the ConnectionString property in the global.asa file. My question is, is this truly necessary (isn't there someway to modify the file), and if it is necessary, how do I do it.

Commerce Server 2000 - Applying discounts

Hi,

I am using Commerce server 2000, classic asp and facing a problem while applying discounts.

Below is the process I am trying to implement:

There is a custom table Promotions which has Promotioncode, ProductId, Price and the table data is being retrieved from another service and the contents of the table are always subjected to change and hence predefining the discounts using BizDesk is not a possible solution.

Promotion A - Product A - $100
Promotion B - Product A - $200

Now I need to modify the price of the product in cart when the user enters promotion code.

Firstly, I have tried modifying the pipeline component but I was not able to retrieve the Price for a particular promotioncode. Using scriptor component I was able to modify the amounts with hardcoded values but when it came to retrieving the price from Promotions table I was not even able to create ADODB connection object.

Secondly, I have modified the price in the ordergroup from asp code and called the SaveAsBasket method. Even this did not work as finally when the order is placed the original amounts are being shown in order.

Below is the list of fields I have changed from asp -

_cy_iadjust_currentprice
_cy_oadjust_discount
_cy_oadjust_adjustedprice

What is the best approach in order to achieve this?

Unusually High Activity From ctlg_GetPrimaryParentCategory

Hi,

I know it is the approach to Christmas and sites are expected to receive high amounts of traffic, but the Commerce Server 2002 stored procedure ctlg_GetPrimaryParentCategory seems to be consuming a huge amount of sql resources.

From my trace - CPU:625, Reads:1638, Duration:23436

I am no SQL expert, but this is extremely high for returning just a category name and what is essentially only:

Hi All,

I'm writing an advanced search facility in commerce server 2002 and looking at using the freetextsearch functionality. Basically looking for some guidance regarding efficiency and suitability.

Essentially I have three dropdown lists: product category(from main list of categories), product type(variant), colour(variant) and price (range).

My plan is to pass the price range through and use as part of the SQLWhereClause

Set the Category name property to the value selected in the dropdown

Product type and colour will be passed as part over to be part of the freetextsearch property

All the info will be gathered from the form and passed via querystring to the results page where the search will take place.

Anyone got any different ideas/thoughts? I'm still populating the dropdowns from the catalogue so time still to change my thinking if required....

CacheManager error after installing cs2002 sp4.

i'm currently running cs2002 sp3 + feature pack1. During a request to setup a new QA environment i decided that inorder to gain MS support i would try to install sp4 after a clean install of the above.

After installing sp4 everything appears to be working fine with the exception of the cachemanager. Commerce server can read the catalog and everything else fine but when i go to create a basket i get the following error from the cahcemanager.

with me being new to working with cs2002 i'm looking for someone to help point me in the right direction.

How am I supposed to debug my system using Trace Log?

Hi All,

I am currently supporting an ASP based system which is utilizing Commerce Server 2000. On and off when the end user using the module, as long as the module have to do with user profile processing, it may land on an error page saying "An invalid value has been specified for key member." (random occurence, sometime it works fine). After searching the MSDN via the link below:

It says that such error is very generic and it can only be debug using Trace Log. I have already generated the Trace Log and it was converted into a readable format (csv), but the problem is when I open up the Trace Log, I can't really understand what the contents try to express, and I have no idea how am I supposed to debug.

My Trace Log consists of columns: Event Name | TID | Clock-Time | Kernel-ms | User-ms | User Data... | IID | PIID | (and then follow by 3 more columns without any title which have most of the value as 0)

With great thanks in advance, I really hope that someone would:

(a) Guide me a way to solve the "An invalid value has been specified for key member." bug, perhaps without using Trace Log

OR

(b) Guide me a way to generate a more meaningful Trace Log, perhaps displaying the module or function that causing the problem

OR

(c) Guide me a way to understand what my current Trace Log trying to explain

I'm trying to support an older Commerce Server 2002 application which uses the class GlobalConfigClass.

When the code tries to instantiate this I receive this error.

An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in programname.exe
Additional information: The component or application containing the component has been disabled.

There isn't any information written to the event logs when this happens. I think it has something to do with enabling COM+, but everything I've been able to find on this message refers to Windows Server 2003 and I'm on Windows XP. This application works fine one other PC with Windows XP. I've tried to compare the two environments but nothing is jumping out at me.

I'm looking for ideas on things to check. Is anyone familar with this type of problem?

How to iterate site term groups?

In commerce server 2002 does anyone know how I can retrieve a siteterm group so I can iterate through the individual collection of siteterms? I then want to iterate through the site term elements. I know how and can retrieve an indivdual siteterm if I now its value, but this seems to only work within a group only.

I'm trying to:
1) determine what individual siteterms are inside a group
2) retrieve the description of each
3) retrieve the count of the group

BizDesk can do this, but I can not find a way to do it using the .Net classes.

To retrieve indivdual siteterms I'm executing this:

I am not very experienced with Commerce Server, but have been given the task of finding out how the MSCSAuth cookie can have its secure bit turned to on. Is there a config setting for doing this, or some other way ?

Asp.net 2.0 App to interface with Commerce server 2002

Hi,

I am new to Commerce server 2002. I am working on asp.net 2.0 and C# based shopping cart app , I want to interface with commerce server 2002 with few functionalities like Additem to basket and shipping , These places i want to use commerce server components and exisiting few developed components will add in the pipeline to do the process.

I have an existing ASP application which does these process all. But now i want to make this as three tier in asp.net 2.0. I would like to go for an web services to accomplish this functionality.

I have gone through many forums and articles , What i understood was commerce server project can be created in asp.net 2.0 and it has base class library Microsoft.Commerceserver.Runtime.dll and many dlls. The commerce project is point to commerce site and then we can able to get the commerceContext and further process can step in...I am not sure ...

I would like to create a webservice or so and to communicate with the CS2002 and use the components in the required places through webservices. My feel is Commerce server project will gives the package of all the stuff , So as i only going to use few functionalities want to reach this through webservice.

I would like the people come forward and give suggestion for me and give clear idea to start with. I really thanking you to give your valuable inputs.
