How to generate MD5 hash of a text file on windows

Hi guys..... Suggestion Needed.... I need to hash a text file. I cannot use third party softwares to perform hashing. Is there any way that i can hash this text file. Is there any feature in windows operating system so that i can perform hashing. Thanks in Advance.......

I am unaware of any tool provided directly by any version of the Windows operating system for this.  However, there is a Microsoft-supplied command line tool (fciv.exe) that can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=b3c93558-31b7-47e2-a663-7365c1686c08.
