  • Hi,

As far as I know, the error ”element not found” was always due to Windows Update. In that case, please make sure you’ve patched up your OS first.  This action is a prerequisite and has already written as installation tips

For details about this element not found error, please check this blog http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vsnetsetup/archive/2013/10/22/installation-of-the-visual-studio-2012-fails-with-the-error-message-microsoft-visual-studio-2012-devenv-element-not-found.aspx

If you have any other question when you reinstall it, please make sure your installation file have no problem. Because most installation errors may be caused by corrupted installation file.

You could use this tool http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290 to verify the sha1 value of the ISO.

The sha1 value of visual studio 2012 professional is “EB90FBB91EB816B217519A7725E6B3FAD46A5CC5”.

If you have any further question, please feel free to let me know.

    Regards.

  • Hi,

About your issue, I think you may have many updates to install. You could check for updates in Widows Update. Or your network may be slow. You could wait for a longer time.

If you have any question about update, you could post your issue to the website below.
