Performance of Reading Tags thru Biztalk RFID Manager

Dear all,

I am currently developing Biztalk Solution for real-time asset monitoring using Symbol XR400 Reader.

I create a process for reading tag and SqlServerSink event is used to write tags read to SQL Express. Also I have adjust the "Duplicate Elimination Time" to "1000" ms to make sure that the process could be sensitive enough to reflect the real-time status of items.

However, after checking records stored in rfidsink database, I found that not all the tags can be found. So I use "Symbol Tag Tracker 5.3.0" program (Provided by Symbol) to double check if the problem is related to the antenna. Surprisingly, by using the tag tracker program I found that all the tags could be read most of the time.

I am wondering how RFID Manager handling incoming tags as using the Tag Tracker can read the tags all the time but using process in RFID Manager can't.

Is there any configuration I didn't apply before to make RFID Manager process works as efficiently as using direct communication to the reader?

Hi Vincent

Do you find any pattern in the missing events? Are all tags near one antenna missing? This could happen if your process is bound to specific antenna and not others. You should also check if all antennas are enabled in RFID Manager.

Dear Vicent,

I am with the same problem. Did ou solve it? The read performance is too low with Biztalk. I tried woth Symbol Showcase and the read performance was too better.
