Hi,
When you're in production with your solution it probably won't run on BTS in windows 7. So to be on the safe side for development I would recommand to use a virtual environment on top of windows 7. The virtual environment should have the same OS as the production OS.

Although some people have installed BizTalk 2009 on Windows 7 but Microsoft documentation does not reflect that BizTalk 2009 is supported on Windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/en/us/system-requirements.aspx). There is no installation instructions yet available for windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9C697E02-D1BC-4684-8748-28B3A292D5BF&displaylang=en).

- BizTalk 2009 may or may not work on Win 7. (There are very good chances that it works correctly for you.)
However, the main thing is that is is not supported by Microsoft, as Win7 was released after the product group had a chance to test it.
Randal gave sound advise, as BTS is supported on a HyperV machine.
