Modifying EDI Schema X12 214-3050

Hello

We have to add customized segments in standard 214-3050.

Few of them have to appear after N9 segment as ZN9PU, ZN9DEL, ZN9SERV ....

Few of them just need N901 & N902.

Tried to copy N9 segment details and changed the ref to ZN9PU.

When i try to validate the instance getting error Unrecognized data.

And other error that shows ZN9 having first value as U when it finds ZN9PU.

Is there any limitations on character in ref / tag_name?

But Everytime I am geting below error.

Is there any articles/tutorials on How to confidure Schemas/Send/Receive ports in Covast..any examples....with BTS 2006..I know there are some whitepapers on Covast Site...But apart from that is anywhere else I can get more info on Covast...I had to use EDI with Covast Accelerator and Biztalk 2006

EDIFACT Service Schema not found

Hi all.

I try to receive an EDIFACT-Message in my orchestration.
I read data from a file in a receive location. When I put my EDI File into that location I get an error message in the eventlog (translated from german):

EDIFACT-Serviceschema not found.

In my iroject I included the EDIFACT_ServiceSchemaExtension.xsd. What else is missing to make it work?

HIPAA 837 Mapping issue

Hi,
Have any one faced a situation in which, while mapping data to 837P schema, have to group the data at Provider level, so that there will be only one 2000A loop for a given provider. Then at the 2000B loop level if there are different client for the same provider then there will be multiple 2000B loops. If there is new provider available, then once again a 2000A loop will start with its 2000B loops. Had any one faced a similar situation? How was it achieved?

EDI 834 to FlatFile

I am wrestling with a flatfile output behaving badly - to begin it was working fine except the edi transactions, being debatched were creating in the flat file output one record per file (alternately I could tell the send pipeline to append but then the records had no CRLF delimiter). So, next I went back to my party/receive pipeline and rewired it to keep the EDI batched. Now, I need to figure out how to use loops in the map to tell it to process all the 2000Loops, each one as a record. I have looked online/in the Biztalk R2 ProMapper book but there is not an example I can see of looping with a map destination to a flat file. Would appreciate any help - my head is getting sore and the wall I am banging it on is suffering some too.

EDIFACT CONTRL Acknowledgment Error 26 - What happens to the message?

Hi all.

I sent the same message to BizTalk twice and got the EDIFACT CONTRL Acknowledgment Error 26 (duplicate detected) as expected.
But what happens to the message sent? Is it deleted from the system or stored in a database. And if it is stored, in which database?

I did not build any error handling into my application, so it still uses standard settings for failed messages.

Can you let me know how can I access the UNA_segment and UNB_segment inside an Orchestration?
As of my understanding UNB segment is stripped off from the actual XML before it is send to Message box.
I think UNB_Segment is available in context property of the message.
WHat is the data type of UNB_Segment?
Can I create a string variable in Orchestration and assign
strUNB = Msg1(EDI.UNB_Segment);

Is there a default schema for UNB Segment?

Help on setup AS2 on EDIFACT D97A ORDERS type

Hi,
i was being assigned a project to implement and EDI to exchange EDIFACT 'ORDERS' message with customer. I found that BTS was able to do the EDI over AS2 on EDIFACT. However, i have read through the BTS help file and have few things need the experts to clarify:

1) Is BTS 2009 support EDIFACT D97A 'ORDERS' message? If yes, any way to check? If no, how to make it supported?
2) Is that anyway to convert the sample EDIFACT file to XML file using BTS 2009?

Has anybody found out or blogged about any new features to the Biztalk 2009 EDI tracking abilites? Like on failed message routing is the ISA and GS information or other message properties retained with the message? Or perhaps a tracking DB for messages sent and received so that we can query interchange data for our trading partners.

BizTalk 2009 - Store Subdocument as EDI in Database

I am working with a client using BizTalk Server 2009 Standard edition that processes 837 claims using the 4010 Multiple schema X12. The process uses the EDIReceive pipeline to import the data. Once the data is "split" into the XML message, they would like to store the "split" message as a field in the database, but they want to store the "split" message in the EDI format, not the XML format.
Is it possible to convert the XML message back into EDI so that the EDI formatted message can be stored in the database?
Also, I should mention that we are not using maps in the orchestration. We are using .Net to persist to the database, so we need to associate the EDI message with the persisted data before inserting into the database. Does anyone have any information they could share?

BizTalk Server 2009 - Sub Document Processing Hot Fixes

I am working on a BizTalk Server 2009 project using the Muliptle Schema for 4010 X12 837 claims processing. I am using the EDIReceive pipeline to "split" the document into multiple messages and then writting the "split" messages in XML to a Receive port. When I look at the XML messages that are created, it appears that there is additional information in the messages. Information from other claims appears to have been associated with the claim I am trying to view. I believe that this is similar to the hot fixes for "bloated XML" in BizTalk Server 2006 R2 [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967945 ]. Does anyone know if there is a hot fix for this in BizTalk Server 2009?

When processing an 837i file that contains one (1) Transaction Set with multiple claims. We are processing an EDI file against the 837I Multiple schema to create separate messages for each claim. We are using the EDIReceive pipeline to process the file. The EDI pipeline splits the document into multiple messages and outputs the information into XML documents. The XML documents appear to have information from both claims in each document.

Example:

Claim 1 has all of the information associated with Claim 1 but also includes some of the information associated with Claim 2

Claim 2 has all of the information associated with Claim 2 but also includes some of the information associated with Claim 1

I would expect that the message for Claim 1 would only have information associated with Claim 1 and that the message for claim 2 would only have information associated with claim 2.

How do I override the UNB sender id segment in an EDIFACT message at runtime??

Hi,

I want to reade the EAN ident from the source XML document in BizTalk, and use it as the sender id in the UNB sebment of the EDIFACT message (ORDERS). The EAN ident is promoted, and is available in the send pipeline.
I have tried to make a custom pipeline, where I read the promoted property, and as far as I can see, I must put it in the propery "SenderID" with the name space "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2006/edi-properties". But when I try to promote the property, I get the exception "Loading property information list by namespace failed or property not found in the list". It seems like the property schema for the namespace "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2006/edi-properties" is missing.

BizTalk 2009 Mapping Issue

I have a specific design issue in mapping two seperate records to one in the destination schema. I have to compare the present record child element with the previous record and say if they are same then, I have to group them under one parent node in destination schema, else they will appear in seperate records. I had thought about looping here, but Im not sure on whether its possible to compare the records.

HIPPA EDI 837 Professional to a flat file

I am struggling to get my map works for an EDI 837 PROF to Flat file. The output created with all the claims first then the services lines. But I need like Claim then all the services like below. How do I do this? Is it something wrong with my loops?

Migrating 2002 EDI Schema in 2006 R2

Hello,

Is there any way to convert 2002 XDR Schema (which of "LOGMES" EDI Message type) in 2006 R2.
With the help of VS.net, I've got the Schema but it is not of EDI Type.

Then I tried the below tool. But it looks for only ".xsd" and not ".xml"

AS2 Synchronous MDN with Orchestration

I'm working on Biztalk server as2. I want to receive as2 message from my partner and send synchronous mdn to my partner. I know i need to use a two-way receive port and party configuration. Also i know how i can configure party and port.

But i want to use orchestration. I create a two-way receive port, a receive shape and a send shape. But what should be mdn send shape's message type?

I am getting target namespace error while processing through party.

I have modified X12 base template of X12_00401_210 and added Root node DS_RHW_210. Schema target namespace given as http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/EDI/X12/2006Custom and selected “DS_RHW_210” as Root node.

Map works perfectly, I have created an Orchestration to transform through mapping, created send port as edisend which is assigned to a party. Messages were passing through Orchestration and getting error as

EDI Reporting again

I posted a question about EDI reporting before and received some suggestions. I have been working on this for a while now and I can’t seem to come up with a solution to my problem.

I need the ability to track the following from out bound invoices (810), invoice number (BIG02), invoice date (BIG01) and acknowledgement status (997). I have tried promoting properties (distinguished and with property schemas) with no success. When I reached the conclusion that the EDI pipeline on my send port will not promote properties I decided to try and create a custom pipeline component to promote my properties. This failed as my custom pipeline needs to use the EDI assembler which I found out does not promote any of the message context properties associated with an EDI message (ISA segment, GS Segment, etc..) and does not give me a message that I could use XPATH queries to get my required values.

I need similar tracking for outbound 850 and 860’s and I can get everything I need because the EDI dis-assembler I use in my custom outbound pipeline promotes all the EDI message context properties and allows me to do XPATH queries.

If anyone has a possible solution or something to try I would appreciate it greatly. But for now I have to believe that the above EDI invoice tracking scenario is impossible in BizTalk 2006 R2.

I am using BizTalk server 2009 for 837 outbound file generation. My 837 file should have one ISA_IEA segments in a file and the claims submitted by each provider should be created within each ST_SE segment. From the SQL DB I am receiving the claims information for each provider and trying to append them in a single file after the HIPAA assembler. The HIPAA assembler is creating ISA_IEA for each ST_SE and appending it in the file. How can I create multiple ST_SE segments within a single ISA_IEA segment.

Hey everybody,

We are encountering a problem with BizTalk Server 2006 R2 with regards to document splitting in the 837D EDI schema. In our current environment, we are running BizTalk Server 2006 and are attempting to move to BizTalk Server 2006 R2 for a new project we have underway.

The problem we are seeing is in how the EDI Engine in R2 is splitting up our EDI 837D files when they are picked up by BizTalk through a Receive Location that utilizes the EdiReceive Pipeline. In 2006, once an 837D EDI file was received, the HIPAA Accelerator would split the file into messages where each Claim (2300 Loop) was its own Message. I looked at the 837D schema (multiple) that came with 2006, and it appears this document splitting was based on the attribute subdocument_creation_break="yes" being speficied in the 2300 Loop XML node.

The 837D multiple schema that came with R2 also has subdocument_creation_break="yes" specified at the 2300 Loop, but it generates drastically different results than what we are seeing in 2006. In 2006, the 837D file, once translated to XML and split, would give us one Message per Claim where the information in the XML Message included only that information that pertained to the Claim. This would include information from the ISA segment, GS segment, ST segment, 2000A Loop, 2000B Loop, 2300 Loop, etc., all the way down to the most granular level of detail that pertained to the Claim, but would not include any information that did not pertain to the Claim.

Now, in R2, if this document splitting attribute is specified in the 2300 Loop, in each Message we still get only that information from the 2300 Loop on down that pertains to the Claim. However, we get all of the information from the higher levels in every Message generated by the EDI Engine. For example, if we have an 837D EDI file that has 3 Claims in it (3 2300 Loops), and each 2300 Loop has its own 2000B Loop as a parent (3 2000B Loops), each Message generated by the EDI Engine will contain only one 2300 Loop, but it was also contain all 3 2000B Loops. We have tried moving the attribute subdocument_creation_break="yes" to other higher levels in the 837D schema, but that can result in more than one 2300 Loop being included in each Message.

Basically, I'm trying to duplicate the processing output we are seeing in 2006, but I can't make it work in R2. We either get lots of unnecessary data in each Message, or we get multiple 2300 Loops in each Message.

Have any of you seen or experienced this same problem, and can help us achieve the desired result? Even if it is not possible in R2, that would be good to know. Every post I've read about the subdocument_creation_break="yes" attribute makes it sound like it works great, but it is not giving us the results we are looking for.

AS2 Messages bigger than 1 MB makes a MIC not verified failure

Hi all,

if we receive messages bigger than 1 MB via AS2, the sender get the error "MIC not verified"

(Though UPXI has sent it successfully there have been some problems with regards its message integrity checking.

Upon investigation the message is experiencing a "MIC not verified" issue. )

The message itself is correctly processed on our side, but the sender side get everytime an error message.

Now I am not sure if it is a BizTalk problem while generating the MDNs for those messages or if it is a problem on the sender side.
Because this side says http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb226414(BTS.20).aspx messages up to 96 MB could be processed.

BizTalk 2009 support for EDIFACT messages ORDERS S93A and INSDES D96A

Is there any way to get support for these EDIFACT message types in BizTalk?
I know there is support for this if I by the "Covast EDI Accelerator". But that seems to be overkill in my case.

Flat File Debatching

Hi

I have to debatch a flat File with the following structure

UN1
.
.
.
UN1
.
.
.
etc.

I would like to do the devbatching with a pipeline.

My Schema has a root node and a record with an element inside

root
record
element (where the data is inside)

I cannot use a fully strutured schema because the the incoming flatfile have a different structure. The only characterisitca they have in common is the header record UN1.

I tired a lot but I did not succeed. How do I have to configure the child order and the child order delimiter type for this flat file?

Use of "Batches" Option in EDI properties of Party in BTS 2009

Hi,

In the EDI properties of the Party, there is one option called "Batches". Please explain the use of this. In the Batches Option we can create new batch and we have to give the number of "Groups" and "Interchanges". What is the use of these settings. Will this helps to create more than one group in the EDI file. If so how will be create the groups?

I'm having a problem with the EDI batching in BizTalk 2009 (and BizTalk 2006 R2 for that matter).

My situation is the following:

I have one specific FF message which I map into one or more (EDIFACT) DESADV messages and always one (EDIFACT) IFCSUM message.

These messages need to be combined into one and the same EDI interchange, so I'm using the Batching orchestration built-in into BizTalk 2009.

As a result I need to get one EDIFACT interchange with the IFCSUM always as the last within the interchange.

My solution so far:

I have one orchestration which splits (and maps) the incoming FF into one or more DESADV messages and into one IFCSUM message.

These are put on the message box and picked up by a send port to the FILE system (EDISend pipeline).

From there, they are picked up again by a FILE receive location (EDIReceive) *

* Reason for this is that apparently it is impossible to call the EDI send/receive pipelines from within an orchestration?

I need to do this, because the batching orchestration only batches with complete EDI messages (meaning that they need to have UNH for example filled in).

From there, I use another orchestration that activates on the receive of a DESADV and will then listen for more DESADV messages until a timer of 15 seconds is ended as of which it then listens for the IFCSUM.

After each receive of a message that validates these rules, I send it to the Batching orchestration (which is setup in my Party setup).

Then an external release trigger message is sent to complete the interchange and send it out to a send port.

My questions:

1) Is there any way to call the EDI Send/Receive pipeline from within my orchestration?

I have searched A LOT and found nothing useful.

2) Now, when 2 FF messages are received within a short time frame (few seconds), these are mixed up between the interchanges and completely invalidates my output.

Is there any way to solve this? (also see http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/biztalkediandas2/thread/ea6bb531-d095-47d5-a51b-b4c892553eec/ for the same issue)

3) Any pointers as to where I can improve the solution? I don't feel comfortable with the 15 second timer for example...

997 GS08 Version/Release/Industry Identifier Code

One of our business partners is taking issue with the 997 GS08 element (Data Element 480 Version/Release/Industry Identifier Code) we are providing in response to receipt of 837 files. It appears that BizTalk 2006 R2 is using the GS08 from the inbound transaction set to build the 997 acknowledgement GS08. Our business partner is rejecting the 997 because it is their understanding that the 997 GS08 should only contain the "004010" version identifier, and not the transaction set specific version identifier of the 837 (e.g. "004010X098A1"). As support for their assertion, they are pointing to the 004010 ASC X12 Standard Implementation Guide, Data Element 480 Version/Release/Industry Identifier Code section, where it is stated that "element GS08 is to be used for the transaction being used (sent)." In this case the 997. Since there isn't an Implementation Guide for this transaction, 004010 is the version identifier.

Question: Is the Version/Release/Industry Identifier Code of the source file GS08 acceptable in the corresponding 997 acknowledgment file GS08? In other words, is the 004010X098A1 from an inbound 837P valid in the GS08 of the acknowledging 997 file?

If no, how can we set the outbound 997 GS08 differently than the inbound transaction set (e.g. 837)?

If yes, where can we find documentation to support this assertion?

837 Document splitting issue at the claim level still exists in Biztalk server 2009.
This issue was addressed by KB 967945 in Biztalk server R2.
Can anybody from MSFT throw some light ?

BizTalk Server 2009 -HIPAA configuring a party issues

Hi,
I have to send a HIPAA 837 file as an output of my process. Since it needs to have the party details like ISA and GS segments, i have to configure the party for the same. Since this is a process where i would be sending a EDI file do i need to configur party as a Interchange Sender?

If so, the various values in ISA say ISA02 and ISA04- I could not specify it while configuring the party, even though their values are just spaces...What am i supposed to do?

Other Interchange items like ISA09,ISA10,ISA11 to ISA16 ...I'm not able to see these properties , so I could not configure them.

For the functional identifier like GS, I have to configure the values from GS01 to GS08...Again, I'm not able to see those properties How can I configure them?

Receive error message while deal with AS2 MDN

Hi All
Error occured while BizTalk Server deal with the MDN message from one partner.
Error description is below:
The outbound message of the component "Microsoft.BizTalk.EdiInt.PipelineComponents" in receive pipeline "Microsoft.BizTalk.EdiInt.DefaultPipelines.AS2Receive, Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.EdiIntPipelines" is suspended.
AS2 message validation failed. Please make sure the certificate is not overdued or revoked.

I dont choose Check Certification Revocation List while configuring general AS2 properties.

BizTalk Server can process messages from other partners successfully.
It also can process the AS2(except MDN) messages successfully received from this partner.
This error only occured while receive MDN from this partner.

Can anyone advise the reason for this question?

X12 00401 867 Receiving EDI Document fails with Invalid character in data element

Hello,

I am use X12 4010 867 (BizTalk Server 2006 R2) to send a report.

I have the All Parties to “Allow Leading and Trailing Zeroes and Spaces”.

I customized the X12_00401_867 ITA07 field to be X12_R (SimpleType).

When generating the XML of the 867 the ITA07 is a ####0.00 string value.

The message is sent thru the Send Port successfully, but I then read back in the EDI file ( for batching ) and it fails with below.

If I remove the trailing zero in this field it successfully reads the EDI file.
