Local business by type?

Question

I am trying  to find the right api for doing a local business search using the latitude and longitude for the user's device. I want to do it by genre ie all restaurants in a 5 mile radius. Is there a such api that I can use with metro. When I use the Web search it gives me back all the wikis and online restaurant sites which I don't want.
