Sunday, March 25, 2012 8:47 AMHow to enable the map rotation for RoadMap mode? I want to be able to rotate the map to any heading, not only in 45 degrees steps.

Monday, March 26, 2012 4:54 PMIt is currently not possible to rotate the map in road style, only in Birds eye and at zoomlevel >= 10.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 8:29 PMMaybe. It is something we would like to have but there are also other features competing for time. What would you like arbitrary rotation for?

Hi Daniel,
We'll take this feature into consideration for the future. However, you should be aware of the licensing limitations of the Bing Maps Platform which may prohibit your usage. The terms are located here:
http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/Win8MetroMaps.html
Paraphrased from section 2(ii):
(ii)
Restrictions on your use: We
do have some restrictions on your use of the service. You may
not:· use the service for business asset tracking, fleet management, or dispatch including without limitation, to monitor or track the location or movement of Asset(s) (as defined below) or to provide guidance based on the position or routing of multiple objects tracked using GPS or other sensor-generated methods. Assets means one of any of the following classes: vehicle, device or other mobile object. (for information on licensing for these types of applications, please contact maplic@microsoft.com); · present or alert an end user to individual maneuvers of a route in any way that is synchronized with the end-user’s sensor-based position along the route (e.g. “real-time” navigation);

Wednesday, March 28, 2012 4:57 AMThis will be not a problem with Open Street maps or any custom generated tiles.

It will be if you are using the Bing Maps control. Even if you are using a different tile layer inside of the control. Not that asset tracking applications are allowed if you have the right Bing Maps license.
