Lack of public transit directions on bing mobile

Hi,
I live in NYC and used google maps / public transport directions heavily before, but now that I am on Lumia 900, I don't have this feature anymore.
This can be a deal breaker for some ppl in the city, like my wife for example. Hence considering iphone over winphone. ( small things can matter a lot for some! )
I know that the online version of bing maps has public transport already, but wonder what's stopping this feature to make it into the mobile version ??
Another annoying thing is that the web version of bing opens up the mobile app, so by default it can't be used.
The trick is to switch to desktop mode, then you can get the directions.
I know that there is Nokia transit, but that didn't work out for me in NYC. It sends me to nonsense directions taking bus instead of express train, etc. also there is no choice of preferring less transit, less walk, etc.
Did someone look into this already? Any plans adding public transit directions to mobile bing ?
Thanks,
Csaba

For now, if you have the Lumina 900 go into the Nokia Collection under downloads and get the Nokia Transit application. It's free to all Nokia WP7 owners.http://rbrundritt.wordpress.com
