Routing across oceans?

Question

I have built a map/timeline mashup widget that we use to create an interactive view of Band tour routes. A purely USA tour worked very well and was well received, but I am having trouble with a tour that is in the USA & Europe. Is there a way to tell the API to just draw a straight line or nothing between two points if it cannot find a route, or somehow ignore the issue, but route the rest of the waypoints?

As I'm sure you have found out this is just not supported. I will however submit this to the development team as a feature request.
