Email won't route through CRM Dynamics 2013 Online

    Question

  • We are currently using Office365 along with CRM Dynamics 2013 Online and are unable to send emails through CRM. It times out and the emails do not go anywhere. I have read about an Email Router but I'm completely unsure of what needs to be done.  I have a case number open with Support (Case# 1229969545) as I need some help determining if our CRM email setup has been done correctly or how to resolve this issue.

  • CRM itself doesn't contain the ability to send email. So you either use Outlook client to send email or use Email router to connect to Email server to send email.

    For outlook client, you can easily configure it, you don't need a server to run the email sending service like Email router. But it is also hard for you to control or do the modification for users.

    For Email router, you need a dedicated workstation to host it. You can control everything centrially, but the disadvantage is you will need a workstation and also you need to configure for each user.
