How do I change my MSDN registration email address?

    Question

  • I have tried and tried to find the area in my msdn subscription/profile, but cannot.  There is an area that allows me to change the contact email address attached to my account, but not an area to change the email address that shows up in the "Registered to" section of my MSDN Subscription Management page.

I would like to change this email address since it is not my contact address any longer.  If I am required to receive a confirmation email at any point (like I was previously when I was having problems with my registration and new email account), then I won't be able to get it.   So changing that information is imperitive.

    Thx

I realize this is an old question, but I had trouble figuring this out myself today...

Go to the same web site that's used for MSDN activation:  http://microsoft.na.subservices.com/msdn .  You'll need your "Subcriber Number" to sign in.  Once you're in, you can change your personal information such as e-mail, mailing address, etc.  I just did this myself, and the e-mail address seems to take a while to propagate to the msdn.microsoft.com site.

  • I tried that but it is greyed out (disabled) and won't let me change it.

I had trouble with this answer because I don't have any subscription services but to have a windows live id which I use for these forums. I found it difficult to do the same changes as the original poster but found out the following:.

You can go into the account services for Windows Live Id via https://accountservices.passport.net/PPNetworkHome.srf?lc=2057 and click on the "Sign in to Account Services" link. In there look for the "Password reset information" section where you can add a new email by clicking on the "add" link to the right of the "email" word.

  • Hi

I have the answer after searching for a while on how to change the email address with my MS account, I have just done it successfully. Yay!!!!

Go to the link below and choose to rename the primary alias which allows you to effectively change the sign in account.

    That method worked for me.

None of the others did - they just took me to a limited view of my profile.

Using the above link I added a new email alias, MS sent me a code to confirm, when my new alias was confirmed I deleted the old email alias.

    Many thanks.

  • The site does NOT allow you to change email address. Email address is greyed out, and disabled. You may change other personal information using that site, but not email address.

  • I contacted MSDN support about this issue. They said any MSDN subscriber that needs to change their email address has to send in a written request to msubserv@microsoft.com . The email request must contain your old email address (the email address they have on file), the email address you want to replace the old email address, and your subscriber number.

    Good luck!
